As an integrated psychotherapist and dedicated birth educator who wholeheartedly believes in following one's bliss, I've found fulfillment in the nurturing realm of maternal wellness. My passion lies in supporting women during their transformative journey into motherhood and beyond.
My journey took a unique turn when I gave birth on the first day of lockdown during the pandemic. This experience fueled my commitment to establishing a practice and a safe space for women, empowering them through the challenges of giving birth.
In my role as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Lactation Consultant for the Huntington Hospital Maternal Wellness Program, where I proudly serve as the Primary Therapist, I bring over 12 years of dedicated experience supporting mothers. Holding a master's degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University, I've also undergone advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health with Postpartum Support International.
My academic journey extends to a master's degree in Medical Anthropology from the University College London, where I explored the impact of terminology on social behavior in my dissertation. Furthermore, I hold a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley - Go Bears!
As an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, I have the privilege of providing education to medical students on postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, further contributing to my passion for the birthing community.
What sets my practice apart is the inclusivity of working with first-time moms, as well as those experiencing motherhood for the second or third time. Regardless of where you are in your parenting journey, my approach is tailored to meet you at any point in the process. I believe in the importance of providing support that aligns with your unique needs and circumstances.
When you choose to work with me, you benefit from my extensive education and experience. Integrating traditional psychoanalysis with solution-focused therapy, my goal is to guide you toward a fuller, happier life. As a trained Doula, I provide comprehensive birthing knowledge and insights into your body and the birthing process. Serving as a Hypnobirthing Educator, I impart invaluable techniques for a fearless birth. Proficient in EMDR therapy, I help you release old negative belief patterns and develop new, compassionate beliefs about yourself.
My passion for the birthing community is reflected in my current role on the training board of Maternal Mental Health Now, where I actively contribute my expertise. I also dedicate time to volunteer for community outreach programs, providing education and training on perinatal depression and anxiety disorders.
I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your unique journey into parenthood.
